Reflections Customs Days 2022

It was with great expectations that my colleague Nils and I steered the Skoda towards our capital Stockholm the day before The Opening of Customs Days 2022. We were met by a large number of people, both exhibitors and visitors, in the hotel bar where food was served. The nice, warm and lovely feeling among the people was like a vitamin injection, happy cheers hailed through the air and laughter echoed. A little later I crawled into bed and closed my eyes, but I couldn't fall asleep, thinking about what was going to happen tomorrow and feeling lucky to be able to experience this once again. As Nils and I sat at the breakfast table, we saw people we recognised, customers and people I have been "nagging" for years to give us at Tyringe a chance to show how good we are. We headed to the Customs Day venue itself and set up a stand, loaded with pads, pens and caramels. Visitors started pouring in and my pulse rose a little because this is the time. Not to make a short story long, I'll sum up by saying that the Customs Day in Stockholm was a bit thin in direct conversations with new interesting customers, but 17 business cards disappeared from the table so I expect to be contacted and invited to discussions. Perhaps the most important part of this day is meeting existing customers and hearing how they are doing, so talking I did 😊.

Then it was time for Gothenburg, Sweden's hmm-side. Gothenburg never disappoints - always lots of visitors and a high pulse in the conversations. They say it's good to have a high ceiling and everyone can have their say. The venue had very high ceilings and bare, reflective surfaces where the exhibitor space was, so it really wasn't possible to talk to each other in an okay way no matter how hard you tried. The only way was to ask the other person to come outside and have a conversation there. No, high ceilings are not always a good thing. Despite this plop in the protocol, there were many and good conversations with clients and prospective clients. Gothenburg doesn't disappoint, but this time we were left with hoarse throats and tired heads.

The Customs Day tour ended in Malmö. I knew beforehand that I would meet many nice customers, but I could not imagine how many new nice people I would meet and talk to. The day flew by and when I counted the business cards that were taken, 9 of them had disappeared without me handing them out, so I will probably be contacted afterwards. Sending an extra thank you to those of you who were able to wait in line to talk to us.

So if you have any concerns or already know that you want or need a reliable system provider for your customs management in the future, get in touch! Don't hesitate, we won't let you down, it's you and us who will take things forward. We know systems development and you know "reality" - a winning team.

Thank you for this year and see you in 2023!

With kind regards
Mats Nilsson
